Environmental practices of RFR

The carefulness of RFR with the environment is not reduced to the purchasing and sales of scraps. The company adopts internally a series of practices to minimize to the maximum of the environmental impacts generated by its activities.

One of them is the selective collection of waste, which is disseminated in all the company. After collection, the materials are separated in dump carts, which are carried away by a company specialized in waste management.

In order to reduce air pollution, apart from maintaining in its fleet of trucks only trucks with the maximum of two years of manufacture, RFR is involved with the monitoring of the emissions of each vehicle, forwarding for maintenance those that present problems. The trucks must also remain off the ignition during the weighing and the process of verification of the entry and exit of material orders, to generate less smoke.

RFR also maintains a station for the treatment of effluents to handle all the water used in washing the trucks and the raw materials. After passing through the process of decontamination, the water is returned clean to the stream, which runs, by the side of the company.

All the oil used in the RFR trucks and the resultants from the processing of the scraps are gathered in another specific gallery and later forwarded for recycling of by a specialized company. Gutters to guarantee the collection of oil dropping from the trucks and the scraps and to avoid contamination of the soil and the water cut across the entire compound of RFR.

In relation to electric energy, all the sectors of the company have a responsible person for disconnection of the light switches in order to avoid the waste of energy. Apart from that, all the monitors of computers of the company are models of LCD, to save energy.
